One of the famous poetess known for her ability to write melodious and romantic poems.Her work shows her anxiety ,loneliness& longingness for her husband,who had left her in her youthful years.None of her writings have ever been published nor any effort was ever made to have collection of her work.So the manuscripts were scattered at different places in the valley.

After exodus,the efforts were made by the disciples of Swami Mast Ram Ji Maharaj of kashmir,Prominently by Pt.late Raj Kumar Khushu& Padam Shri Awardee Late Pt. Moti Lal (Saki) koul.And her work was first published in "Sahaj Kosam" by Mast Bab Ashram in gratitude to pay tribute to her and to save the legendary contribution by her for our society.

It is believed,had she wrote her work for the God She would Have Been The Mira Bai of kashmir.But none the less no one can Deny the fact that the depth in her work and the sufi touch her poems have.And her desire for the love which she desired. It is true that her writings holds no contemporary in kashmir.

Arni Mal was born at palhalan distt(baramulla)and later on she was married in Rainawari in Kachru's Family.Her Husband's name was Bhawani Dass Kachru. Bhawani dass was an persian poet, with the title "neko".With the time their marriage began to appear a failure and he left her.He was an employe in Muslim darbar and used to spend most of his time with nautch girls and wine.

Arni Mal spent most of her life at her Father's home.And it was here were her work began to Sprout and Mature under the whirlling sound of the Spinning wheel(Yander).with the utmost innocence and viriginity,Her songs came to sing her vows of life.

It is said in later years of her life, Bhawani Das was Disgusted with the behaviour of Muslim Subedaras.He could not stand the humilation and left back to Arni mal to Aplogise but as the destiny would have it, when he reached Palhalan, what he saw was the last funeral Procession of Arni Mal before him.He was left to regret for rest of his life and she passed ahead of him to meet most lovable of all.

It is said that She died around 1800.
